Right out of my garden

Was just walking by my garden this morning and found this gem ,not sure of the color ,  when i bought it a few years ago the container said "peach " but this is a lil more than a peach color , its a deep orange mixed with peach and the smell is to die for , beautifull !!! picked it and just sat on a candle holder . Wish it could stay like this forever .

Abnormaly Thrifty: My Guest Bedroom Makeover

  I have recently embarked on another project that I have been putting
away for so long .Since moving into our house 6 years ago , I havent paid attention to my guest room . We painted the whole house and neglected this little room. Right now its a dumping ground for things we dont use .. Now after finally after 6 years and graduating from nursing school , I'm ready to fix up my house and make it a home . We started by re-painting the living room , kitchen and living room . My guestroom is 12X13 (not so big ). I am thinking maybe a full size bed and a dresser (which i am am refurbishing ) .Because of the shape of the room , I cant put a chaise lounge like I wanted to . And WHY am i abusing this nice desk ???? and YES that is a throw blanket on the window thanks to my hubby , no peeping Toms will look thru this one for sure .

Guest room update

I have been working on the guest room for 3 weeks now , I have to say it turned out amazing . I didn’t have any color scheme or anything to decorate around with . I just wanted a nice and comfortable room. I found these amazing silk orchids at my favorite store (Goodwill) of course love the colors, the flowers are yellow and the color of the vase is just breathtaking, and there goes the inspiration…

                                             

This color scheme worked out perfectly and i used it through out the room . Today as I walked past my hall way wall pictures , I was almost out of breath !! i have had these pictures for over 5 years .I couldn't believe how these pictures and the orchids were a perfect match , check this out ....

Look what i stumbled upon at the Thrft Store !!! A vintage looking phone  ? i got those suitcases  the same day just differnt stores , can you imagine my joy !!! This represents the guests being in the room with their luggage tucked away , love it and love the colors together .

                    The vintage phone  will come in handy for room service .

 Oh , and my night stand is a fish tank stand that i spray painted and the top is a door for my old china cabinet , the lamp is a basket that i painted and glued on a fringe .

Rugs from the Dollar Tree painted by my youngest son Bailey , HE IS AMAZING !!! W e are still working on the rug , more posts later when done .



 My sister Pam made these curtains for me and have been using them in the master bedroom  . They look much better . Love you Pam !!

 Thats my dresser project , i just spray painted it , no before pictures unfortunately .when my husband saw this sitting in the back yard on 3 legs (you know he cussed right ) when he saw it in the room , he could not believe it was the same "thing" .This came with the headboard in the picture above .

             I already had the outer frames and i purchased the inner ones from the Dollar Tree and just peeled out everthing ,I know they are not even  thats why I have that thing laying on the bed ,  the outer frames were a boring natural looking color and I spray painted them black .

Old Lamp

BEFORE

The other day I saw a sign saying FREE  garage sale left overs . You know I raced over there right ?
 got this old lamp and told mysely , I know I need this I can do something with this , this will come in handy some day , ughhhh thats always my excuse for hoarding .
I had some candy tins that were just sitting in my pantry , i spray painted those and glued them together and the lamp .
